![]() It is very serviceable and it looks like a good place for a transitional facility. The room that he is in is a little bit out-dated, especially compared to some of the things I have seen (as I am a physician, so I know what a hospital looks like). They are trying to be very observant of all of the anti-Covid restrictions and the facility was clean and neat. They have been pretty responsive to my concerns and questions. ![]() He ate every bit of it, so that was good. I saw his food that he got and it looked delicious. I talked to the physical therapy people yesterday and we talked about what I need him to be able to do. He has been progressing a bit in his ability to move around. I would NOT leave my loved one in their care! Friend or relative of resident I have never seen a more Mickey Mouse kitchen operation!! The 'visiting' area had 4 crappy tables and 1 broken chair. How are they sanitizing dishes and bathing patients? (Hint, they're not)The dining area is a joke. The nurse told me they were waiting for a part to come in. Of course none of the staff who we asked on Saturday, on Sunday and on Monday knew what was wrong or when it would be fixed. There are facilities that are good and that do take care of patients, but this is not one of them!! They had no hot water on Saturday when she got there, and STILL no hot water on Monday afternoon. By afternoon on Monday, Mom had come and taken my Aunt out of there. Mom spent all Monday morning on the phone with them to try to find out the game plan, no one knew anything! Just kept transferring her call around. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was Saturday afternoon when she came in, but it was no better on Monday. I am a friend or relative of a current/past residentīk.casa AVOID THIS PLACE!! UTMB sent my Aunt there for physical therapy rehab after a short hospital stay, and no one seemed to know why she was there. I will always be incredibly grateful for the loving care they gave my father in his last years. The Meridian staff became like a large extended family for my Dad and me. I knew he was safe and loved which took a HUGE burden from me. They went out of their way to make sure he could still live his life with dignity. He was a very independent guy, and they allowed him to experience as much independence as possible in ways that were safe. They got to know my Dad as a person, not a patient. My Dad absolutely adored everyone who worked there from the maintenance department who helped put his recliner together, to the front office staff, to the med aids and nurses.they were all wonderful. Every staff member we encountered over the last three years was loving, warm and real. Very first encounter with staff, we knew we made the right decision. Though we were both nervous, starting with our Janie's Dad We moved my dad into the Meridian several years ago after I had taken care of him in my home for five years. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident I would like to know a little bit more specifics about my friend's condition, knowing what I know about his previous condition. However, I have been asking to have a doctor-to-doctor talk and it has not occurred yet. Marylee My friend is in rehab at The Meridian.
